Job Title: Early Childhood Education Group Childcare Program Manager

Huckleberry Daycare is a new daycare we are starting in Wells in response to our expanding needs. The Wells and Area Community Association is seeking a creative, enthusiastic and experienced Early Childhood Educator to manage this program. This person will provide quality care in a multi age program for children ranging from infant/toddler to school aged children. This is a full time seasonal position starting mid-May and running through October 3, 2014. This position offers a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Diploma or Certification in the field of Early Childhood Education (including Infant/Toddler Certification).
  • Post Secondary Diploma Certification with Infant/Toddler an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Current First Aid/CPR-C Certified
  • Food Safe an asset
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft, Excel)
  • Relevant experience displaying strong leadership or staff/volunteer supervision
  • Ability to work effectively with community partners and the Wells and Area Community Association
  • Recent related experience working with children and families licensed child care programs, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Willing to negotiate a flexible schedule if required
  • Willing to live in a small, remote, rural, creative community

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a safe, comfortable age-appropriate environment that promotes quality care in a multi aged group program
  • Provide age appropriate supervision and guidance including day to day needs such as toileting, nutrition and rest times
  • Plan and implement contemporary Early Childhood education practices and programming within a team environment
  • Coordinates registration including relevant policies required for within a team environment
  • Coordinates registration including relevant policies required for licensing (waivers, emergency card, etc.)
  • Maintain daily logs and program information
  • Work independently and within a team
  • Ability to travel to and from or live in our small, remote, rural community
