Scary streets, haunted houses and a real Spooky Buddy at Barkerville’s Ghostly Hallowe’en
Barkerville’s autumnal Activities Season is underway, and the National Historic Site’s nighttime streets are quiet… disturbingly quiet, in fact.
On Monday, October 31st, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, visitors to BC’s Gold Rush Town can explore the darker side Barkerville – in a lighthearted, family-friendly nod to the spirits of Hallowe’en past, present, and boo-ture.
Test your fate with a self-guided ghostly walk through town, beware of the haunted Blair House and the echoes of its past inhabitants, meet legendary gold rush murderess Agnus McVee at the Methodist Church, play games, make crafts or watch a complimentary film at the Visitors’ Reception Centre, and stick around for fireworks after dark!
As a VERY SPECIAL “only in Barkerville” opportunity this year – guests can watch the Disney film Spooky Buddies… with a real Spooky Buddy!
A complimentary screening of the Halloween edition of Disney’s hugely popular “Buddies” series of talking puppy movies will show at the Visitors’ Reception Centre (Map #4) followed by a meet and greet with none other than B-DAWG the Spooky Buddy!
Not an actor in costume… Barkerville’s resident archaeology dog, Pete, actually played B-DAWG in the movie Spooky Buddies back when Pete was a puppy himself! Pete/B-Dawg will be available for photo ops, head pats, hugs, and good old-fashioned Halloween family fun!
